Member Profile: Cherie Tellier - Klassen
Policy Sub-Committee Co-Chair
(She/Her)
Cherie (she/her) has been actively engaging in community and civic issues for over two decades. At the heart of everything she is involved in is her love of community, her city and building positive impactful relationships. As for the former Executive Director of the Old Strathcona Business Association, Cherie led the second largest business improvement area during a global pandemic and supported economic recovery afterwards. She’s learned how to take seemingly impossible challenges and turn them into creative opportunities.
On WAVE, Cherie is co-chair of the Policy committee where she reviews city policies and initiatives with a critical lens on gender equity.
She’s a long-time ally to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and lives it daily, as a mother to two gender diverse kids.
Cherie is also an avid urbanite and city builder who advocates for active and equitable mobility, transportation and housing options.
