Member Profile: Toqa Abdelwahab

Toqa Abdelwahab is very passionate about community. Raised on the city’s south side, she grew up being heavily involved in the Muslim and Egyptian communities of Edmonton. From the many roles she has taken up in community-based projects, Toqa has become a jack of all trades. She has experience as a teacher, a graphic designer, a social media marketer, a board executive, a journalist, and a scientist - and that doesn’t even cover it!

Currently, Toqa is a graduate student at the University of Alberta, working on a project relating to the eyes. In addition to serving on WAVE, she is her department representative at the Graduate Student Association, and continues to be involved with the Muslim community of Edmonton.
